CRAFTY UPDATE

Sigh......

Now that Mum's birthday and Dad's hospital tests are over it is nice to get back into a bit of crafty stuff.
I've finished the rug that's all the wrong colours.
It's warm and snuggly with only all those awful ends to deal with now.

I wanted to try a new edging.

Thought I'd try a picot but I have a big problem following a pattern.

I figured that as long as I repeat what I am doing I have an edge of sorts.
I may have invented my own picot edging !!!!!

.........

Today I learnt how to join the four reversible-quilt-as-you-go-log cabin blocks that I have been working on.

The Christmas side ...

............ and the every day side.

Just some binding and then I'm done.

Cheers.

  1. Even if the picot is not what the pattern says it looks good to me and it does the job. Those quilt squares look really good - now I'm wondering how you get them together and quilted so that the stitching is right on both sides? They look good too. Well done!

  2. Ahhhh Jane there's quite a bit of work to it if you are a bit of a clutz at quilting like me but you are actually sewing six layers together at a time so that the whole thing is done at the same time. clever isn't it?

  3. How interesting, I should like to see how you joined the 4 blocks.

  4. Your edging looks just fine. So glad to hear life is getting back to normal for you!

  5. You don't know how many times I've done my own stitch either because I couldn't "get" the stitch or didn't care for it.

  6. Well, I've said it before, but I really like those blanket colors...
