When you wake up on a Saturday morning to weather like this.......

..... you plan your activities to suit the weather.

It's a great time to fertilise the grass with the rain to water it in.

It's a good time to stew up those end of season peaches that are not so good to eat fresh but are lovely with yoghurt or cream for dessert.

But when even Dash can't be coaxed outside .....

and there's a batch of fruit scones just out of the oven...

...... it's time to settle down with the Saturday papers.

Look who's visiting.

A very much appreciated visit from a well loved Royal.

Past the awful news from Japan ....
and on to the travel section ...

My favourite !

Queensland holiday destinations back after battles with cyclones and floods.

Or perhaps an overseas destination appeals more.

I have to say they hold more appeal for me.

Then there are always travel documentaries on TV to while away the hours.

Very relaxing !

  1. Ah, that looks like a very enjoyable Saturday to me. The scones look delicious. Would you mind sharing the recipe?
    Hope your Sunday is lovely,
    Anne xx

  2. Looks like a wondeful weekend, with a mix of the need to do and the want to do. Enjoy what's left of it!

  3. Looks like you had a good day there! The scones look great and a dish of peaches and cream or yoghurt would be lovely. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and dream of your forthcoming travels!

  4. It looks like same weather we had here!

    Those scones look delicious!

  6. Oh my tummy was rumbling when I sat down and now I want scones (and jam)! I darent walk down to the store, as I am dressed in my grottiest painting clothes.
I will have to settle for a shortbread (not home made alas). Can't complain tho, my neighbour has cut down an over grown conifer in our garden and I am looking down at an uninterrupted view of the Abbey ruins :-D

  7. Very relaxing day! The scones look delicious.

  8. Looks like the perfect relaxing weekend. Glad to seee you had lots of yummy goodies to keep you going ;-) Have a good week. Ros

  9. Tony looks well installed, mind you after all that gardening I'm sure it is well deserved. I love those little bilbies, they look so cute. I hope they manage to thrive again.

  10. I would like a scone, please?

Good old mother nature-her sense of humor gives us a break, doesn't it?

Hope you two had a great weekend.
