SUMMER STORMS

Summer days in Queensland often mean hot, humid days that end in super thunder storms.

Yesterday, the warnings started in the early afternoon and we could see the storm building up from our backyard vantage point.

Gradually the sun disappeared, the humidity increased and we waited

and batterned down the hatches !

It wasn't long before the sun disappeared

but luckily for us the worst of it passed us by.

Cheers.

  2. Wow! That's some awesome pictures. Glad the worst of it missed you. We never see skies like that here. Or at least I've never seen skies like that but I'm only 65 so there's hope or dread depending on your viewpoint. I think the rain always gets to us before the sky puts on any great show.

    1. Tropical thunder storms can be quite spectacular with some great displays of lightning. I love them as long as they don't do any damage..

  5. We've been incredibly lucky and missed out on every severe storm so far this season(touch wood). Although it would be nice to get some decent rain.
