FAVOURITE THINGS FRIDAY

Crocheted Granny Squares !

That's my favourite thing for today.

I've been busy using up all the bits of leftover wool from my charity group and making them into Granny squares.
It's just the thing to keep my hands busy while I'm watching TV.

Not too hot now that the warm weather has arrived with a blast.
( around 30C every day this week !!! )

They're beginning to stack up.

Ive made quite a few.... 26 in fact!

Nearly enough to make into a blanket.

That will be a new skill for me to learn.

There are more Favourite Things over on
Why not go over and take a look?

Cheers.

  1. Your granny squares look gorgeous. Marg valiantly tried to teach me to crochet when she was here in April and I haven't touched it since she left! I just don't think I have crocheting in me!

You appear to have the gift. I can see why this was your favourite this week!

  2. Well done! They look great and will make a super blanket though with such high temperatures you will not need one just yet!! We are set to have soaring temperatures on Sunday - check out this link to see what we mean by soaring!!! http://news.uk.msn.com/uk/fun-in-the-sun-as-temperatures-rise

  3. Those squares look great. I will need some to keep me warm as our temperatures are dropping and the leaves are starting to fall here.

  4. Your granny squares are lovely! I like to use the "join as you go" method. It's easy and has a nice finish to it. it will add another round to the squares you have already done though. But if you want to edge each square in one color (or different colors) it will work nicely for you. Here's a wonderful video in one of my posts showing how to use it: http://teacuplane-sandy.blogspot.com/2010/11/rednesday-my-red-white-blue-wip.html

  14. I'm so excited to see this...because I KNOW HOW to make these! Yes, I do! I see all this knitting and crocheting going on in blogdom and I'm always a tad jealous that I can't do it. Well, these I know how to do; the ONLY things I know how to do...and they look almost like yours when I do them. Of course, it's been a while, but you may have just spurred me on! [grin]

  16. LOVING the Granny Squares. I never seem to be able to stick with crochet, and yet I always admire what other people are turning out! I guess if there were 100 hours in every day, I might be more tempted to stick at it! Ros

  17. "Quilting in My Pyjamas"? Sounds quite saucy to me. Think I will have to give it a miss or my blood pressure will go through the roof!

  18. Love your FTF. I binged on granny square making last winter. There is something so satisfying about turning those little things out quickly and then joining them up.
