SHORT POST

Life has been fairly busy around here lately and this has been getting a workout.

Our winters are usually fine and sunny and reasonably warm but we've had a lot of overcast cool days.
Just the weather for casseroles in the slow cooker.

Time to try out a few new recipes........

and sample some BBQ kangaroo too. ( very tasty and tender provided you don't overcook it )

Have a good weekend.

Cheers

  1. Those dishes look bloomin'marvellous. I take it that's a piece of pumpkin at the back left of the last one.
I'd like to try some roo.
You like your veg, don't you? There's about 6 types on that plate!

    How's the hooking going?

  7. Folks,
The kangaroo meal was Tony's size serving not mine. He loves kangaroo. It is very tender providing you eat it rare and tastes very much like a good beef steak but there is no fat as kangaroo is a very lean meat and therefore very good for you.
And Sue, you and the others are welcome here any time !!

  8. Oh, it does look delicious Helsie! I gave away my huge crockpot to Goodwill and just use a small one now for hubby and me. I like the crockpot and do my country ribs and chicken meals in it. I really like the crockpot when we worked downtown Chicago and had those long commutes to and from work. It was so nice to come home to a tasty meal all cooked except for the sides. Never tasted roo but we had buffalo meat on our trip.

  9. It has been cold this winter. While I don't have a hot pot, I was gifted a cast iron casserole, which I have been putting to good use over the last week or so - my version of slow cooking
I am not keen on 'roo, mainly cause I'm not keen on meat that is not well done. But I did enjoy buffalo and croc when in the NT
