MORE TREES

In the past I've told you about some lovely flowering trees that are a real asset to the landscape of where I live.

Today I'm going to tell you about another tree that is a real asset but this time it's not for the eye candy it adds to the landscape.

Oh no, although this tree grows rather big and is really great for providing lovely shade to gardens and patios especially in older suburbs, it is planted for its FRUIT !

This year the trees have a bumper crop.

 They are absolutely laden with these delectable parcels of sweetness.

They are planted in hundreds of large suburban backyards

MANGOS !

In Queensland we grow a variety called Bowen Specials - they originated in Bowen in North Queensland and now are marketed under the name of Kensington Pride  and  OH YUM, they are to die for !!
