Michelle , they are Hippeastrums. They look just like Amaryllis but are not even the same family as far as I can find out. (Tony couldn't spell it properly as you can gather from his comment !!!) Cheers
I thought they were amarylis (I wonder the plural is). Whatever they are they are glorious, my favourite colour but what a shame the rain beat them down.
