Anne: I'm afraid even in my younger days I would not have rubbed shoulders ( or anything else !!!) with hunks like these! - except for Tony of course, he is quite a hunk !! ) Jane: The photo is Queensland's Gold Coast - a beach holiday spot about 60 miles south of Brisbane. Lots of modern highrise buildings ( not everyone's taste ) and fabulous beaches. We also have another fantastic beach area to the north called the Sunshine Coast. Both are very popular with visitors from NSW and Victoria as well as Queenslanders and when the weather is hot they are the place to be. Cheers Helen
Thanks for the info Helsie - have just finished speaking to my daughter who arrived in Brisbane earlier and is feeling homesick and headache-y and thinking of coming home! Sure she'll feel better tomorrow though. It's not easy living in hostels and sharing rooms etc I shouldn't think and she's been gone 7 months now. She will be off to Melbourne in a few days I think where she can stay with her aunt. I have given her the link to your blog as you often tell about places in the Brisbane area she might not otherwise know about.
Are those men in red budgie smugglers your friends Helsie? :-)
ReplyDeleteLucky lady on the left eh?! Os that Brisbane in the top pic? Do tell us more about the pics!
