When I went back to the comments, there were none there so it seems to have been lost. I am sorry. Thought I had better explain, in case you went there and found it hadn't been published and wondered why not.
Nice to see you back!Foodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18407090612662909061noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6754404636941782233.post-80427330802617494992010-07-04T12:13:40.358-07:002010-07-04T12:13:40.358-07:00Oh dear helsie,

I don't hold the yard in my non-hook hand like many do with the index finger sticking up in the air. Just couldn't do it. And I couldn't wrap it around my fingers either. I just hold the yard where it is comfortable for me and it seems to work. You will love doing granny squares...so much more fun than a foundation row. I'm still working on my "Crazy Colors" throw...almost half way through row 9 of 12. It just takes practice, practice and more practice.Sandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04664295814876984709noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6754404636941782233.post-17270443876085326232010-07-01T20:25:35.707-07:002010-07-01T20:25:35.707-07:00Doing fantastic with the crochet!!!! As a knitter, I use my non-hook hand similiar to knitting - by looping around my pinky for tension - hope that might be a help for you tooAussie Mariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15107453364531984524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6754404636941782233.post-48500966931295713632010-07-01T16:02:01.677-07:002010-07-01T16:02:01.677-07:00your doing a great job on the crochet, keep the go...your doing a great job on the crochet, keep the good work and cant wait to see your granny.Sherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07736570204747331097noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6754404636941782233.post-3547562218241922032010-07-01T15:33:06.257-07:002010-07-01T15:33:06.257-07:00Thank you my friends for all of your encouragement...Thank you my friends for all of your encouragement.Helsiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15136273834165751276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6754404636941782233.post-9363633023025194022010-07-01T08:42:02.223-07:002010-07-01T08:42:02.223-07:00It's looking good Helsie. Someday I'll have to be brave and put pictures up of my "projects".
I've decided I'm a much better quilter than crocheter.
Keep up the good work!Toni aka irishlashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05439209726767685697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6754404636941782233.post-18437348288469941942010-07-01T05:54:51.781-07:002010-07-01T05:54:51.781-07:00I can't believe just how far you have come alo...I can't believe just how far you have come along and so fast. I know what you are talking about with the non-hook hand. That's the key to the whole thing really. It's getting the yarn entwined properly and the tension. Once you have mastered that you will be off and running. But, seriously, you are doing wonderful, each picture here shows just on quickly you are catching on.

Keep it up, my friend,
KateAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13721336502963839799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6754404636941782233.post-45441038780766064172010-07-01T05:53:15.294-07:002010-07-01T05:53:15.294-07:00Love the Kookaburra! We have this thing about magpies here - that they are supposed to steal people's things, especially jewels and valuables. I don't know if they really do it.
The crochet looks nice too.
